ABE GURKO

When Abe Gurko packed his bags and moved from New York City to Hollywood, he wasn’t leaving a career in the fashion industry to chase the usual dream of becoming a movie star. “I wanted to be a mechanic to the machine called celebrity.”

Working between New York and Los Angeles, Abe built a reputation as a creative producer at the intersection of film, fashion, and content creation. He has spearheaded marketing and fundraising campaigns for HIV/AIDS, Jewish, and women’s nonprofits, as well as theater and independent film — producing large-scale cultural events spanning media, politics, and storytelling.

A defining creative turning point came through his collaboration with the legendary Carrie Fisher, where he gained an intimate understanding of the writing process and a rare, front-row seat to how ideas move through Hollywood, the media, and public life.

Most recently, Abe produced the acclaimed documentary LOUDER: The Soundtrack of Change co-produced by Selena Gomez and is currently developing its follow-up docuseries, Won’t Be Silent. He is also the author of the best-selling memoir Won’t Be Silent – Don’t Stop ’til It Matters, and writes a column for The Times of Israel and Substack with an engaged and growing social media community.

Abe serves on the Board of the American Zionist Movement, where he co-chairs its Communications, Social Media, and PR Task Force, and is a member of The Brigade — an alliance of entertainment industry leaders driving meaningful change.
